Luke 6:38 says “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over.”

WE HERE AT CITYLIGHTS CHURCH BELIEVE THAT THIS DOESN’T JUST APPLY TO OUR PERSONAL GIVING, BUT IT ALSO
APPLIES TO CHURCHES GIVING, AND MINISTRIES ALIKE. THAT IS WHY WE AS A MINISTRY HAVE CHOSEN TO GIVE BACK
INTO OTHER MINISTRIES. WE STAND ON THE WORD OF GOD THAT OUR CUP RUNNETH OVER.

In 1971, Belarmino “Blackie” Gonzales purchased AM730 KDAZ, then, a country station. By 1975, Blackie’s life had been transformed, and his passion to serve the Lord radiated into every aspect of his personal and business decisions. He, and wife Angie, decided that the station should be transformed to broadcast solely Christian content. These many years later, KDAZ and KCHF remain faithful, broadcasting messages of hope and healing to the people of New Mexico. Son Broadcasting has been an example of fine Christian programming and will continue to “Let the Light Shine In” until the return of Christ!

In 2017, the Albuquerque Rescue Mission became Steelbridge. The mission of “transforming lives through the power of God’s love” remains the focus of our work. The expansion of Residential Programs at our downtown campus reflects our response to the changing needs our city. Capacity for housing men and women in our programs tripled. Today, there is room for 72 men and 26 women in the New Life Program for men and Women’s Center of Hope. Our emergency services for the public have increased and been relocated to just outside the downtown area, at the Steelbridge Resource Center (2021 Second Street NW). In a strategic move to reduce duplication of services, we collaborate with The Rock (2400 Second Street NW) to provide meals for the homeless and those suffering from food insecurity.

As we read in Proverbs, “Better to eat a dry crust of bread with peace of mind, than have a banquet in a house full of trouble.” Our whole reason for being is to offer a small corner of peace, a place of brotherhood, a promise to fill a void with nutrition and a heaping portion of help and love. Last year we served over 113,000 meals to the homeless and working poor, and now dish up more than 370 meals every day.
We sincerely hope that one day, no person will be hungry, lacking shelter, or without basic provisions. But, until that day comes, we will help Gods homeless children through nourishing meals, spiritual guidance and other essential services that help promote self-sufficiency, dignity and independence.

I went on my first missions trip to England when I was 13. It was a place I had been dreaming of visiting since I was 7. The trip only confirmed what I already knew, I LOVED ENGLAND! I feel like the rest of my life was built on the dream of someday returning. Kenya was a learned love. It wasn’t a place I dreamed of visiting, or a country I knew a great deal about. When I was originally asked to go on a trip in 2009, I said no. Lucky for me, the team leader didn’t accept that answer. After making a deal with God, I found myself on a plane headed to a place I thought I wasn’t called to. I couldn’t have been more wrong. I have never fallen in love with my surroundings as quickly as I did in Kenya. It stole my heart and I have never been the same. I feel as if my heart has grown wings! I can no longer restrain my urge to fly to the distant lands that are calling my name.

We have been given the incredible privilege of starting and directing King’s Castle* – BRAZIL, to share with children the best NEWS on earth, that “Jesus saves, heals, baptizes in the Holy Spirit and is coming soon!” Psalms 145:4 says, “Let each generation tell its CHILDREN of your mighty acts; let them proclaim your power.” King’s Castle engages young people to take up this cause, to make sure its GENERATION hears the most important NEWS of eternity. Our Jeruselem is Campinas, Brazil, but our prayer (and what we have already begun to see) is that Brazilian youth respond to the call of God, and join His team to spread the NEWS to the uttermost ends of the earth, which will include the many UNREACHED tribes in Brazil.

Hebrews 13:3 “Remember the prisoners as if chained with them—those who are mistreated—since you yourselves are in the body also.”

Remembering Prisoners Ministry (RPM) dedicates itself to distributing bibles in English or Spanish to female prisoners all through the United States and Puerto Rico. Tate heads up this ministry and works through CItyLights church and in cooperation with Bibles Plus in Albuquerque, NM.
